This course is focused on small sculptural building and surface decoration. You will learn how to prepare and manipulate paper porcelain in different ways, suiting your creativity and ideas. Undisturbed learning & experimenting is our focus!
My courses are mainly demonstration-led and customized, as much as is possible, to the needs of individual students. The courses are suitable for both beginners or more confident artists. Guidance and help is given throughout. Learning from each others experiences is also very important. Groups are limited to 6 which makes one to one tuition possible. Classes (Monday to Friday) typically start at 10 am and finishes around 5 pm, during which we enjoy a home-made and fully catered lunch.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Breakfast, lunches and dinners included in the course price with the exception on Wednesday evening*.
Breakfast comprised of local specialities such as baguettes, croissants, home-made jams and a selection of charcuterie & cheeses, which makes for a very varied spread. Even during a longer stay, you will not have to eat the same thing twice.
We will enjoy healthy lunches & home-made dinners with seasonal & local ingredients prepared by Olivier, alternated with a local pizza and a French restaurant.
Accomodation at Les Mirandes
You can choose to stay in a room or a cottage/gîte.
"Les Mirandes" boasts 4 charming rooms, in the unique style of the majestic manoir. Each room is equipped with all modern facilities and comprises a private bathroom, toilet, small fridge, coffee and tea maker.
Each room has been given a unique name, referring to local products that can - with a touch of imagination - also be linked to 19th century personalities who stayed at Les Mirandes.
"Les Mirandes" offers beautiful 2 cottages/gîtes (Le verger and La Vigne).
Each cottage disposes of a fully equipped kitchen - with dishwasher, fridge, microwave oven - a television and a washer.
The pool is at your disposal, as well as the petanque-course and the covered lounge area with small library.
About Montmoreau and surroundings
Montmoreau is a charming French village in the southern Charente, right at the border with the Dordogne and not far from the Gironde. It is situated in the middle of a triangle formed by Cognac, Bordeaux and Périgeux and therefore makes an excellent haven for wine and food lovers. Our beautiful manoir "Les Mirandes" sits about 500 meter outside Montmoreau, a village that boasts a XIIth century Roman church and an old castle as well as all modern facilities. "Les Mirandes" borders an ancient pilgrims route to Santiago de Compostela and used to be a place where pilgrims could spend the night and use a meal. The big wooden cross on our land - symbolizing ultimate hospitality - is a relic of that period.
